The Gift

The 13th day of August is one of those dates that sticks in my head. ’Twas on the 13th of August 1977 that I spent my first and only (apart from having babies) night in a hospital, after deeply cutting the bottom of my left foot open whilst paddling in a river as a child. That may be irrelevant to this recount, or not, as when I cut my foot it had felt as if I had merely slid it over a smooth pebble. It wasn't until I climbed out onto the river bank and saw blood gushing that I realised otherwise, but it just strikes me that, more than once, significant things have happened in my life on the 13th of August since then. Well it was on the 13th of August 2014 at exactly 20:20 o'clock when my angels gifted me something that most, I'm sure, may have considered worthless... but to me personally is a priceless and very spiritually powerful object that has such a highly energetic vibrational frequency that it is positively palpable, and the circumstances of its presentation were such that the second I set eyes on it I knew it was a very special treasure indeed. I will explain now what it is and how it came into my possession.

So, as I've previously mentioned, it was the 13th of August 2014, at about 8 pm and I was taking my usual evening walk with our beautiful dog, Elfie. There was a sudden rain shower but fortunately we were right by our favourite little tree cave when it started so we had a peaceful few minutes sheltering under the thick canopy, keeping nice and dry while rain pitter-pattered on the dense leaves above us. It was wonderful under there, trees and greenery smell so fresh in the rain and I was feeling quite high, just being there breathing it all in while Elfie snuffled about in the undergrowth. I snapped a couple of selfies on my phone to kill time and because I was wearing my first gift of the day, a pretty plaited silver headband that my lovely friend Lorna had given me earlier, so I thought I'd try and get a good shot of it to show her.

(They weren't good shots, sorry Lorna! I probably should have tried brushing my hair at some point that day!)

After a few minutes the rain eased off, so feeling in good spirits I set off with my girl across the one remaining field to go home.

As we walked across the field there was a lovely stormy glow from the sinking summer sun reflecting off the dark clouds on the opposite side of the sky and a huge rainbow suddenly appeared, pouring out from a break in the clouds onto the trees below. I am always really excited by rainbows... I'm forever pointing at them and getting told off... I see them as a huge sign of affirmation and promise of good things. Many a time a rainbow has appeared at really appropriate times to me. I grabbed my phone and took a couple of snaps... and as I did so I noticed the time on my phone was exactly 20:20... as well as my excitement about the promise of rainbows, I also have a thing about repeated numbers, as I have read in the past that in numerology double numbers are considered to be a sign from your angels and spirits that all is well and you're on the right path... these days I like to think of them as approving nods from Mum and Dad... it really cheers me up. Also, when I got home and looked up the numerology of 20/20, I read, “The repeating Angel Number 20 is a message from your angels that things are happening behind the scenes that will be of great benefit to you in the near future. Even though you may not be experiencing these opportunities just yet, believe that they are on their way to you right now. Have faith and trust in the Divine.” ...which, as it happens, turned out to be completely true, but that's a whole 'nother blog!

The amazing 20:20 rainbow,

So anyway, I had just snapped a couple of 20:20 rainbow photos and as I bent my head down over my phone to see how they'd come out, my eye caught something glinting between my feet in the smooth wet soil of the path I was walking on. I was compelled, I believe by all the coincidental spiritual phenomena that was occurring at that very moment and had got me buzzing, to bend down and dig the object out of the dirt. It was quite firmly buried and I used a nearby twig to pry it out of the well trodden path... and discovered that it was a rather muddy, dark stone. I was very close to the brook so I walked over and washed the mud off in the water and found that I was holding an incredibly smooth, almost heart shaped, jet black river pebble! You have no idea how excited I was! I held it in my palm and could sense the powerful vibrations coming from it, and I just knew that I had been gifted a very wonderful spiritual object that I will always treasure.

My Beautiful Ajna Stone

When I got home I rubbed coconut oil into the stone which gave it a richness like matte onyx, and I instinctively lay down on my bed and placed it over my third eye chakra... it just felt so right there. And now I regularly lie down and place it there to meditate or de-stress, or just when I wake in the morning for a moment of reconnection and gratitude, it is wonderful. It always feels so cold at first, but gradually absorbs my warmth, as I absorb its magic in exchange... if I have a headache and do this it is SO soothing and eases my headache like a charm. I have named it my Ajna Stone (pronounced "arg-nya") Ajna is the third eye chakra and is also a play on my babies names.... and I consider it an extremely special healing gift and talisman from my angels that I am very lucky to have and will always treasure.
